Elizabeth Jackson, also known as Lizzie, was born on 18 March 1865 and was 24 at the time of her death in early June of 1889. She was the daughter of John Jackson, a stonemason who was born in County Tipperary Ireland and his wife Catherine, who was also born in Ireland but hailed from County Cork.

Parts of Jackson's body were found in the Thames between 31st May and 25th June 1889. At the time of her death, she had been living as a prostitute in London's Soho Square. The New York World suggested that Jackson was the tenth victim of Jack the Ripper, however there is no real reason to suppose that her death is connected with the Whitechapel Murders.
