Witness at Annie Chapman's inquest.

The elderly nightwatchman of Crossingham's Lodging House, nicknamed 'Brummy'. He told the inquest that he'd seen Annie at the lodging house at approximately 1.35am, 8th September 1888 and that she'd just returned from having a pint of beer. She also told him she'd been to Vauxhall to see one of her sisters.

Her last words to him were "I won't be long, Brummy, see that Tim keeps the bed for me". He saw her walk up Little Paternoster Row and she appeared a little drunk.

Evans also claimed that the altercation with Eliza Cooper, when Annie received her bruises and black eye, took place in the kitchen of Crossingham's, rather than in the Britannia as stated by Cooper.
